School Closed Mon. February 19th
Shoreline Community College will be closed Mon., February 19th, in observance of Presidents' Day. 
All offices on campus will be closed, and no services will be available to students or the public during this period. The College will reopen for normal operating hours Tues., Feb. 20.

Camp Descriptions

Volleyball All-Skills Camp 

Volleyball fundamentals for boys and girls grades 5-12. This Camp is designed for all levels of players: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. Players will be divided by level of play. Coaches will demonstrate, explain volleyball techniques, and run drills to maximize as many contacts as possible.

Positional Volleyball Setter, and Hitter Camp 

For advanced competitive level players grades 9-12. Camp focuses on position/skills for play in High School or competitive situations. Players receive personalized instruction to master keys to success. Enrollment is limited. Early registration is recommended.

Volleyball High School Freshman Camp 

Designed for those entering High School/grade 9. Players will be divided by positions, experience and ability levels. Camp focuses on training, improving techniques, developing skills and team work. Players will receive advice on showcasing skills for High School tryouts using strengths and abilities to secure a spot on a team.

Volleyball High School Advanced Camp 

Designed for varsity player’s grades 9-12 who are competitive and want to get ready to play for a varsity team. Camp focuses on individual skills and team work. Players will work on strategies and the mental game needed to win their games. Campers will work with Shoreline College coaches. This camp is very popular so early registration is recommended.

Coaching Staff

Co-Head Coaches Raquel Chumpitaz-West and Mark West have coached at Shoreline for the last 21 years. They have both played at National Championships and internationally. Coach Raquel received the Washington NWAC Volleyball Coach of the Year and NWAC Northern Region Coach of the Year awards in 2015. She is a former Olympian who played in Moscow, 1980. They both coach boys and girls teams for their Space Needle Volleyball Foundation. Shoreline’s Volleyball team has been Northern Region Champions in 2015, 2011, 2010, and 2001 and placed second in the NWAC in 2002.

All campers should wear comfortable athletic wear, athletic shoes, and bring a water bottle. Please do not bring personal volleyballs.

Campers should bring a sack lunch and afternoon snacks with them each day.

Designed for varsity player’s grades 9-12 who are competitive and want to be ready to play for a varsity team. Camp focuses on individual skills and team work. Players will work on strategies and the mental game needed to win their games. Campers will work with Shoreline College coaches, and also receive input on how to manage the college recruiting process. This camp is very popular so early registration is recommended.

Coaching Staff

Amy Donovan is entering into her first year as Head Coach for Shoreline Community College. Donovan has 10 years of combined coaching experience, beginning with being a camp counselor from 2007-2012 for the Pete Newell Tall Women’s Camps, which focus on footwork and efficiency in the low post position.

After graduating from UW in 2013, Donovan worked in the non-profit sector for the A PLUS Youth Program and Basketball Education in Action from 2013-2015, both of which focused on providing educational and life skills tutoring and high-level basketball training. During the 2015-16 season, Donovan was the head varsity coach at Holy Names Academy in the Metro League. Fifteen players that Donovan has coached at the high school level have moved on to play at the collegiate level, including the PAC-12, Ivy League, and several Division II and Division III conferences.

Camp Descriptions

High School Prep Camp 

Designed for high school player’s grades 9-12 who are competitive and want to get ready to play for a varsity team. Camp focuses on individual skills and teamwork. Players will work on how to stand out positively in tryouts and learn what college coaches are looking for. All areas of the game will be covered .The last day of camp will be a competitive round robin tournament. Campers will work with Shoreline College coaches. This camp will fill up quickly so early registration is recommended. 

Coaching Staff

Shaun Warner comes to Shoreline after a long successful career as the Head Coach of the Bothell High School Men’s and Women’s programs. Warner has been coaching both Boys and Girls at the high school level for the past 14 years. He has won Seattle Times coach of the year and is a 3-time KingCo coach of the year. Warner has helped his current girl’s high school team to 3 straight playoff births and the boys team made it to state in 2017. Warner has also coached at the club level with success. In High School, Shaun was a 2-sport Varsity athlete playing both soccer and basketball; then continued to play soccer in college on the club team at Loyola Marymount University.

All campers should wear soccer cleats/ turf shoes, Shinguards, athletic clothing, and bring a water bottle, sunscreen is also suggested.

Campers attending this 4-hour camp should bring a sack lunch with them each day.
