Application Calendar
Applications open: February 1, 2018, 12:00 a.m.
Applications close: April 3, 2018; 4:00 p.m.
Students notified of the decision: May 15, 2018; 5:00 pm.

 


Ongoing scholarships and assistance available through the Shoreline CC Foundation: 

Cannon Reach International Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance in a time of need to SCC International Students who are at the end of completing their degree or program of study and have run into an unexpected financial situation which might otherwise prevent them from finishing at SCC.

Carli Edwards Memorial Scholarship
The Carli Edwards Memorial Scholarship assists Criminal Justice majors at Shoreline Community College who are survivors of domestic abuse. Financial assistance is provided toward the purchase of textbooks. Scholarship is offered fall, winter and spring quarters.

Corvette Marque Club of Seattle Automotive Technician Scholarship
Established by the Corvette Marque Club of Seattle, this scholarship is for students who are in the SCC GM ASEP program. Check with the Automotive Department for application, criteria and procedures.

Eva Hagemeyer Memorial Philosophy Scholarship
Established  to provide assistance to SCC students with the purchase of textbooks related to Philosophy courses they are taking at Shoreline.

General Application for Emergency Assistance
This program is to help continuing, ongoing students who are experiencing a short-term emergency financial situation that may impact their ability to continue their education at Shoreline Community College. An emergency situation is: (1) an event or occurrence that is unexpected and cannot be planned for and (2) would prevent the student from completing their program at Shoreline Community College. Please contact Alysen Laakso, the scholarship manager, at 206-533-6783 or alaakso@shoreline.edu to confirm you are eligible this support before filling out the application.

Joseph Jex Martin Music Tech Scholarship
Joseph Jex Martin was pursuing a music tech degree from SCC when he unexpectedly passed away at the age of 24. This scholarship is intended to provide SCC music tech students with financial assistance in a time of need.

Joseph Schultz Memorial Automotive Scholarship
This fund was established in memory of the son of former Automotive Director - Don Schultz and his wife, Mary.  This scholarship is for students enrolled in SCC's automotive program who have financial need.

Ken LaFountaine First Nations Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to provide First Nations Students (students indigenous to the Americas and associated territories) with financial assistance in a time of need to prevent disruption of their studies at Shoreline Community College.

Linda Barnes Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Linda taught thousands of students over the course of 24 years at Shoreline and put a tremendous amount of effort into SCC's nursing program prior to her passing in 2014.   This scholarship provides aid to Shoreline nursing students who are in need of assistance for non-tuition related essential nursing program needs. Check with the Foundation office for additional information.

Michael Mitchell Voice Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to provide SCC classic vocal music students with financial assistance in a time of need.

Michael Thompson Fund for Students with Disabilities
This fund provides financial assistance in a time of need to students with disabilities that might otherwise prevent disruption of their continued studies at Shoreline Community College.

Nell F. Brown Emergency Scholarship
This fund provides emergency assistance for SCC Nursing students who are in dire need of financial assistance. Please check with the Foundation office for more information.

New International Student Scholarship

This scholarships  is for new F-1 full time students during fall, winter, spring quarters who have been admitted to the Shoreline Community College. Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, personal success, and contribution to the community.

Norton Family Automotive Scholarship
Check with the Automotive Department regarding criteria and procedures.

Toreson Business Technology Emergency Assistance Fund
This fund, in memory of longtime SCC Business Technology Professor, Karen Toreson; provides emergency assistance with textbook purchases available through the SCC Bookstore for students majoring in Business Technology. Please check with the Foundation office for more information.

Veterans' Emergency Assistance Fund
This fund provides financial assistance in a time of need to SCC Veteran Students which might otherwise prevent disruption of their continued studies at Shoreline Community College.

 


 
Ongoing Scholarships offered through the College:

 

Shoreline Scholars
Full or partial scholarship for up to two years in any field of study at Shoreline Community College for high school graduates in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Up to 50 awards available. 

SCC Piano Scholarship
Quarterly renewable scholarships for fall, winter and spring; awarded to deserving students for private study of classical piano. Please check with the piano faculty for application, criteria and procedures.

Available Scholarships

TheDream.US
University of Washington and TheDream.us have partnered to provide scholarships to qualified undocumented students who transfer from a two-year college to the UW. They expect to provide scholarships to 10-20 students on the UW campus in Seattle each year. The scholarship application closes on March 1, 2018.

University of Washington Scholarship for Transfer Students
The University of Washington offers the Martin Family Foundation Scholarships, which are scholarships for community college students looking to transfer to UW for their bachelor degree. The Martin Achievement Scholarship closes on April 6, 2018. The Martin Honors Scholarship closes on July 6, 2018.

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship for 2018-2019
This scholarship supports who are looking to earn bachelor's degrees in high-demand fields including science, technology, engineering, math, and health care. They would like to award $22,500 to Washington state students. The scholarship closes on February 28, 2018.

Washington Women in Need (WWIN) Scholarship
This is a non-profit organization that provides education and health care grants to low-income women in Washington state. The application is open March 1 to March 31, 2018.
