News/Rapper

The Plain Brown Rapper is the official newsletter for Staff Training for Technical and Community Colleges association. Serving as a voice for all classified staff members, we welcome the opportunity to publish any training or knowledge that you have received. Each campus has a Brown Rapper Reporter who possess the tremendous task of reporting training experiences and resources for classified staff on their respective campuses. Please assist them by sharing your training and learning experiences so that they can be published to all classified staff. Experiences become history when shared.

Check List for writing for the Plain Brown Rapper:
  • When sharing information for The Rapper newsletter about staff development activities, just follow the basic journalism rule of answering Who, What, Where, When & How.
  • Tell who is participating in the activity, both presenters and audience. Explain what the activity will be – both a title and an explanation of what will take place.
  • Be sure to include where the event is held and the name of the College involved. If your report is before the event you can include the time; after the event you may simply use the date and a period of the day such as morning or afternoon as appropriate.
  • Most interesting to readers will be the “How” which explains the purpose for the activity and how it has benefited the staff.
  • Keep the article under 500 words and in Word format.
  • Submit the articles electronically by e-mail to your region Coordinator prior to the deadline date.
Include the following in the subject line of the e-mail:
  1. Your college name
  2. Quarter (as Winter, Spring etc)
  3. Year (2006)
  4. The words "Rapper Article"
(ex: Grays Harbor College Spring 2006 Rapper Article)
